Artist Kapelier
Kathleen Pelletier - Kapelier
Biography
Then came the drawing, I drew all the time even if it was not beautiful according to my classmates. I was drawn to the arts regardless of its form. I did theatre, dance and at the time I even started writing a book, which I lost when the person who corrected it for me died. I am a nature lover, an all or nothing. Then comes painting at the age of 20. My passion, my means of expression, my reason for living, my identity, she and I are one. I am from the bottom of my soul an artist.
This means of expression allows me to touch you and give you love, which comes back to me when you take home one of my paintings. Thank you for allowing me to make you happy.

My Technique
I have developed in more than 40 years of practice an ability to play with colors to deposit on my brush the right shade, the right nuance sought and I have developed a very refined and demanding technique consisting in applying very thin superimposed layers of painting to achieve today a level of light, precision and authenticity of colors and subjects, which make each painting a unique work of art.
Kapelier has works all over the world: in Europe, in Japan, in Jamaica, in the United States, in the Canadian provinces and, of course and above all, here in Quebec my land of blood, my land of heart, my land of love.
My Family
She started painting at 20 but chose to paint for life at 25. Bohemian from 1980 to 1985, she signs her works with her name: Kathleen Pelletier. She married Jean-Claude Langlois with whom she had four cherished children: Marie-Claude, Pierre-Alexis, Jean-Gabriel and Marie-Soleil. She lives from her art, painting, and after her separation in 1997, the year of reunion with her biological mother, Fernande Dubois, she discovers four half-brothers and a half-sister: Nicole, Richard, Normand, Mario and Jacques. She will be an animal painter for 5 years, then a realistic painter with the majestic landscapes of her adopted region since 1985: Charlevoix.
Since 1985 she signs her works with her pseudonym, her label: Kapelier. She lives and raises her children from her painting. She found love again in 2004 and married Daniel Laforest at Les Éboulements Québec on October 15, 2005. Since then, she has moved between realistic, figurative, contemporary, mystical and fantastic painting, with her favorite medium: acrylic and mixed media.
She is a grandmother at 38: Mariannick to Marjorie. Since then, three other treasures have been added: Raphaëlle to Marjorie and Jacob and Félix to Marie-Claude.
We are almost 4000 paintings later.
